Your prayers are urgently needed for 50 top house church
leaders who have been arrested over the past 6 weeks following the release
of a new video (The Cross, Jesus in China) and book (Jesus in Beijing),
documenting the huge growth among Christians outside the officially
government controlled and permitted church.
Among those arrested are Sister Deborah Xu, acting leader of the Born
Again house church movement that numbers over 23 million believers. She is
58 years of age. While asleep on the second floor of her niece’s home two
female police officers entered the house and rushed to the bedroom where
Sister Deborah was sleeping. They quickly handcuffed her and led her away.
The police also confiscated a large amount of photos, documents and other
materials.
Two other prominent house church leaders from Henan province, including
Qiao Chunling, 41, arrested during a house church service in Luoyang; and
Zeng Guangbo, 35, in Deng County were arrested. Guangbo escaped two days
after he was arrested, and remains in hiding.
